No prior bookmaking experience required, but familiarity with editing and organizing photo series is helpful
This intensive four-day workshop is designed to help photographers transform their work into book form—either as a final expression of a project or as a stepping stone toward exhibitions and broader recognition.
You’ll explore the art of sequencing, the power of refined design, and the fundamentals of layout, typography, and book structure. The class includes hands-on instruction with Blurb Bookwright software and an in-depth look at other self-publishing and fine-art printing options. Group discussions, book critiques, and design exercises will help deepen your understanding of what makes a photobook not only visually striking but emotionally resonant.
You’ll leave this workshop with a clearer vision, a strong foundation in book creation, and practical steps toward publishing your own photographic book.

About the Instructor: Keron Psillas
Keron Psillas is an internationally recognized photographer, author, and book producer with over 20 years of experience in the printing and publishing industries. She has published and promoted seven books and is known for her powerful storytelling and refined sense of design.
Her photobook Loss and Beauty won Best in Show for Photobook in 2015 and received a 2019 IPA Award in the Fine Art category. Her subsequent book Cavalo Lusitano was recognized as an RFoto Folio Selection, and she earned multiple awards in 2019 for excellence in fine press publishing, including the Independent Publishers Bronze Award for Lusitano: Noble, Courageous, Eternal.
Keron is currently completing A Song of Death and Dying, a 15-year project to be published in Fall 2025 by Schilt Publishing in collaboration with Thames & Hudson. She also serves as project director for legendary photographer Sam Abell’s two-volume lifetime retrospective, Sam Abell, 1970–2025.
Her passion for photography and deep knowledge of bookmaking make her a beloved and inspiring mentor for artists ready to bring their vision to life in print.
