World-renown photographer and Enid native, Mike Klemme will exhibit his collection of prints from his recently published book, “Celebrating Oklahoma!” in the International Photography Hall of Fame galleries from October 20 through December 2. The images celebrate the landscape, people and places of the Sooner state. Klemme spent 20 months on the project, earning his title as official photographer for the Oklahoma Centennial in September 2005.

In the last 25 years, Klemme has built a career as a photographer of golf courses, destinations and architecture around the world. He has traveled more than four million miles in nearly 50 countries and has contributed work to Sports Illustrated, ESPN The Magazine, USA Today, Men’s Journal, The Robb Report, Cigar Aficionado Golf, Golf Digest, Golf Connoisseur, Links, Travel & Leisure Golf, and travel and in-flight magazines around the globe.

The accompanying book project features 288 pages of breathtaking photography, as well as quotes from famous Oklahomans telling what their home state means to them. They include Barry Switzer, Leona Mitchell, James Garner, Jimmy Webb and Troy Aikman, just to name a few.

The International Photography Hall of Fame will host an opening reception and book signing for “Celebrating Oklahoma!” on Friday, October 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. The photographer and Oklahoma Lieutenant Governor Jari Askins will be on hand to sign books.
